Step 3 – Stops Along the Way
1Welcome back! You’ve made it to step three where things will become much clearer! This is the step where we’re throwing one leg over the saddle and firing up the engine… ready to roll on the throttle and take off! We have a clear destination in mind and now we’re scheduling the stops along the way.
Watch the video now and then come back to finish the rest of this post… it’ll make more sense! See you in 3:43!
These stops will be little milestones of achievement that will keep us going full speed ahead to the next level. Our stops will allow us three things:
1. time to get off the road and reminice about how our trip has been so far – lessons learned, things we’d do differently, celebrate with others
2. gas up so we have enough fuel for the next leg of our journey
3. give us time to look at our map again in case we need to rechart our course and take a different route
The stops along the road that I’m eluding to are the short-term goals we set for ourselves that will help us fulfill our dreams. It’s impossible to look at your destination and think you’ll get there without doing anything. When you achieve your short-term goals, you’re one step closer to living the life you’ve envisioned.
Here are examples of my “stops along the way”:
Run the Disney Princess Half-marathon in February 2013 and beat my time from the Chicago race.
Lose 10 pounds by June 2012 by adapting the Paleo Lifestyle and exercising 3 atleast times a week.
Read 3 business or motivational books every month.
Ride the Tail of the Dragon by summer 2014.
Attend one spiritual based retreat/conference every year.
Practice patience when it comes to my children.
Practice discernment while becoming a better listener and improve the depth of my questions.
Fall in love all over again with my husband.
You’ll notice that most of these are things I want to do or accomplish where there is an end date in mind. Where the last 3 are more a behavioral change that isn’t really measurable but more of a work in progress. Don’t be afraid to address habits you want to break or values/principles you want to adopt in your life… it’ll build your character!
I love having you on this journey with me! Take some time to list the stops that you will need to make along the way… Please share them with me so I can encourage you on your journey!

Pack Your Bags – con’t…
0Do you find you have conflicting priorities in your life? For me, it was pull between my work life and my home life. I’m ashamed to say that before I figured out what was most important to me, my clients always came before my family. My husband and children took the back seat to my career. Without gaining clarity through the exercise I explain in this video, I would probably be a divorced, work-a-holic who buys her kids’ love with expensive gifts. Not the way I want to live…
You can use this simple process as a filter for your decision-making in order to make choices that are consistent with how you want to live. It’s easy… grab your journal and check it out…
Next post I’ll be asking you to dig a little deeper… so spend the next day or two thinking about what you really want for each area of your life. Remember… this is YOUR life and not anyone else’s so BE BOLD and think bigger than where you are today!

Let’s Go on a Roadtrip!
0What does it mean to live life at full throttle? To me, it means living the way I was meant to live… on purpose, on point, in control, fully aware, and having the time of my life! It’s not easy to live the life you know you deserve, the life of your dreams. Instead, “real life” gets in the way… working sun up to sun down, paying bills, getting kids off to school, making supper, cleaning the house. It seems that what you really want is just out of reach… just on the horizon.
It was Pascal that said “We are never living, but HOPING to live.” Is living at full throttle elusive? Are we always feeding the desire to live yet left feeling hungry… wanting more?
Over the next couple of weeks, I’m going to share with you the secret to living life at full throttle. Yes… it can happen to you! It’ll take work but you can do it and I’m living proof! I’ll be sharing this through a series of 3 to 4 minute videos so turn up your speakers and open your heart. I invite you to join me in a fantastic, life-changing journey…

4 Steps to Avoid Saying “I Should Have…”
2As 2011 comes to a close, I find myself torn between two emotions… melancholy and controlled excitement.
Melancholy is kind of a different emotion… maybe regret is a better word. I had high hopes for what 2011 was going to bring and some things didn’t turn out as I had hoped. I always beat myself up over the “should have’s”. Don’t we all do that?

Not Everything is a Big Rock
0The holidays are a super busy time of the year for me. I’m sure it’s crazy at your house too! It’s easy to lose track of what’s most important because it seems that EVERYTHING is important. This is how I look at it…
What are the big rocks that need to go into your calendar this week? With all the big rocks in first, you can still fit in the little rocks!
