International Motorcycle Show

There’s a time and a place for one kind of motivation and inspiration when it comes to living life a full throttle.  And then again there is another kind… the kind where you can put your butt in the seat of the newest, hottest motorcycle model and dream that you’re on the open road going full throttle!

Even if you’re not ‘a biker’, I hope you can sense the adrenaline high, excitement, and adventure that bikers experience while on the road… it’s fueled in the off-season (February in MN) by motorcycle shows.   From the moment I walked into the International Motorcycle Show (IMS) in Minneapolis, drool immediately started running down my chin.  There were so many shiny things to look at that I felt like the dog from the movie UP…  squirrel — squirrel.  It was like I walked into a candy store for adults only!  The shelves were lined with V-Twin lollipops and sugar-coated paint jobs… YUM YUM!!

Thanks to the IMS people and my new friend, Brittany Morrow, I got a dose of reality with my chrome fix.  Brittany is known as the Roadrash Queen <not something I want to be known for> and she shared her story center-stage at The Learning Curve.  Since her accident in 2005, her mission is to educate the biker community to make the right decision when it comes to suiting up for a ride.  Her message is simple… wear the gear or risk pain, suffering, or even death.  You can read more about Brittany  and her Rock the Gear movement by clicking here.

With all the vendors sporting their wares at the show, there are too many to list here.  Not only that, but there were some HOT custom bikes on the Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show.  Enjoy this 7 minute video hitting the highlights of the show.  So… if you weren’t there in person, at least you’ll be able to walk through the candy store and get your fix before riding season.

If you did attend an IMS, leave me a comment with your favorite “candy” you saw at the show!  Love the journey…
