3 ways the world would be a better place…
1
The world would be a much better place if everyone lived and thought as bikers do. Just think about it…
Working for the Weekend – The work week would be the weekend and we’d only work two days a week. It takes atleast a day of riding one way to consider anything worthy of the term road trip. On a regular weekend, you’d get a comfortable 500 miles on in a day but wouldn’t get any time to see the sights not to mention spend time relaxing. But… if you had five full days to hit the road, you could get to another state, elevation, or even topography! Just imagine how many miles you’d put on if you only had to work 104 days a year!

Sturgis Hall of Famer – Gloria Struck
2It’s about time that the oldest member of the Motor Maids is recognized for her lifetime achievements in the world of motorcycling. Gloria Tramontin Struck is a 2011 inductee into the Sturgis Motorcycle Hall of Fame. She joins the likes of Peter Fonda, Jay Leno, Robbie Kneivel, and of course William Harley and the entire Davidson family. Gloria’s in good company… Gloria IS great company! I hope members of the Hall of Fame are ready to keep up with her!
Gloria herself will tell you that she’s no spring chicken but that hasn’t stopped her from hopping on a motorcycle and riding cross country… or around the world for that matter! She is a spry 86 year old with a quick wit and kind eyes. I got to meet Gloria at the Biker Belle ride in Sturgis, just after she was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Diamond Posse
1A diamond… it has the highest hardness of any gemstone, each is unique, formed under high pressure, known for blingability and adornment, highly reflective, disperse light into a fabulous spectrum of color, and a symbol of love. What happens when you get four women together who have these same qualities? The Diamond Posse!
I love it when women get together and do something AMAZING! I got to meet 3 extraordinary, wild, one-of-a-kind women while in Sturgis… founding members of the Diamond Posse… Amy “Diva Amy”, Vickie “Spitfire” and Cat the “one legged blonde”.

How are you doing ‘a little good’?
0Sometimes, you just gotta do a little good in the lives of others. In one small town, Saturday was the day that 2600 people laced up their running shoes to raise money in the fight against breast cancer. It was their day to do a little good and offer support to women fighting and surviving the most common cancer women face today.

Freedom by Sonny Barger
2
It was Rolling Stone magazine that said Sonny Barger was “the baddest man on two wheels”. This definitely was true in the 60’s… Sonny was the founding member of the Oakland chapter of the Hells Angels. He is credited with growing the motorcycle club outside the state of CA and launching it worldwide.
I’ve been reading Sonny’s book Freedom – Credos From The Road. It’s a collection of memories, do’s and don’ts, thoughts, principles, beliefs, and stories from someone who has lived life on his own terms. Free…
