4 Things I Want to Do at the IMS

It’s a new year and I’m all for trying new things!  I’ve been to lots of craft shows, women expos, and swap meets but never to an International Motorcycle Show (IMS).  I am stoked to check out the IMS in Minneapolis, MN at the beginning of February.

I imagine the Convention Center just packed wall to wall with colorful displays, simulators, and motorcycle manufacturers showing off their newest models.  I can hear the buzz of all the motorheads as they file down the aisles… stopping to gawk at the bike of their dreams.  There’s an unmistakable smell of new tires and stiff leather.

4 Steps to Avoid Saying “I Should Have…”

As 2011 comes to a close, I find myself torn between two emotions… melancholy and controlled excitement.

Melancholy is kind of a different emotion… maybe regret is a better word.  I had high hopes for what 2011 was going to bring and some things didn’t turn out as I had hoped.  I always beat myself up over the “should have’s”.  Don’t we all do that?

A New Record!

You just gotta love a good challenge… something that’s never been done before.  You’ve heard of people setting their personal bests when it comes to running a marathon or bench-pressing a certain amount of weight.  We like to push ourselves to do something faster, higher, longer than we did last time.

Ponder These Moments…

Parties to attend.  Gifts to buy.  Trees to trim.  Kids programs to go to.  Cookies to bake.  Presents to wrap.  Songs to practice.  Lights to hang.  Stockings to fill.  Cards to send.  Will the busyness ever end?  Are the holidays a blur of activities and functions where we miss out on the real meaning of Christmas?

I contend that our lives are so filled with to do’s that we are missing the little moments of magic during Christmas.  The moments God puts before us… showing his glory and his promise… yet we’re too busy to notice.

The International Motorcycle Show is making the tour around the country. It is literally the world’s largest motorcycle show… with acres of bikes, parts, and bike accessories!
